It is the purpose of this policy to define the New York Medical College and Touro College of Dental Medicine (“College”) campus requirement for COVID‐19 vaccination.

II. SCOPE:

This policy applies to all students and employees of the College. It also applies to all non-students and non-employees subject to Health Services requirements as defined in the Policy on Job Related Health Requirements.

  2. All persons working or studying at the College are advised (but not required) to stay Up-to-Date with COVID-19 Vaccination following the applicable vaccination schedules. Vaccine schedules differ based upon the presence or absence of immune suppression. COVID-19 vaccination schedules are available at the CDC webpage on Staying Up to Date with COVID-19 Vaccines.
  3. An individual may apply for a medical based or religious based exemption to receipt of vaccination by completing and submitting the appropriate forms attached to this policy.
  4. Non-compliance with this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or dismissal from an academic program or prohibition of access to campus.

IV. DEFINITIONS:

  1. Primary Vaccination:
  2. Until April 19, 2023, Primary Vaccination was defined as receipt of both doses of a 2-dose mRNA vaccine, receipt of a single vector vaccine, or receipt of two doses of the protein subunit vaccine.
  3. After April 19, 2023, Primary Vaccination is defined as a single dose of the current mRNA vaccine or a two-doses of the current protein subunit vaccine.
